Hosts Rob and Treger Strasberg run a non-profit dedicated to helping deserving families in transition by turning their house into a home – and changing lives along the way. Each episode, we meet a family emerging from difficult circumstances as they finally move into a new living space to call their own. To help the family with their fresh start, Treger, Rob, and a dedicated team of designers and volunteers will transform the family’s bare house into a warm home by using goods and services donated by people in the community. The new home will provide much-needed stability to meet the family’s specific needs, stimulate their interests, and promote their goals. Welcome Home will teach viewers the importance of giving back in their communities, to never give up when faced with a tough situation, and gratitude for the basic living necessities that we often take for granted.

Treger and Rob Strasberg moved to Michigan in 2008 with their two children Henson and Tuesday. They instantly felt a strong kinship to Detroit and their desire to help their community was none that they had known before.
Treger co-founded Humble Design in 2009 with Ana Smith. It all began with one previously homeless family in need of home furnishings. Now, Humble Design services up to three families a week and is striving to help all who need them. Over the last seven years, they have fully furnished more than 700 homes in Detroit.
Treger gathered her experience from working in the advertising and marketing arena for 10 years and her BFA from SVA in New York and applied them to helping real people with real problems. She is a trained fine artist and loves every creative aspect of designing for these wonderful families. Every day, with every new home, she learns what it means to be humble.
Treger sits on the board at Temple Beth El, The Organization for Bat Conservation, the Development Committee at the Detroit Zoo, is an Executive Committee Member of Michigan Democratic Party and a Council Member of Senators Stabenow and Peter’s Leadership Council.
She has been awarded the TCH Diversity Award, the Lighthouse Salute America, the TBE Mitzvah Model, the Optimist Club’s Ruby Award, the Girl Scout of America’s One Tough Cookie Award, Make your Marc award by Marc Fisher, and Oakland County Executive’s Elite 40 Under 40 and others.
Humble Design has been featured on Upworthy, Ford Go Further, the Meredith Vieira Show, Mitch Albom’s Heart of Detroit, Motor City Rising, the Radiant Project CNN, The Today Show and many others.

Three different families from Detroit are highlighted in this special look at Treger and Rob helping the homeless this year: After a series of tragic events bumped Shaqueena and her kids into homelessness, they are all now looking at a brighter future; Best friends Joe and Tiffany met in a shelter, got married, had a son, and are now all moving into their first home together; and Raina has finally saved enough to find a permanent place for her and her five children.
